Youth Unite for Victory on AIDS (YUVA)

As I was browsing to get more contents for our college's RRC, so as to unite all the people of our college to get some awareness about AIDS through authentic material published online, i chanced upon a website that I found interesting and relevant.

there's an organisation called YUVA which is keen on spreading AIDS Awareness in colleges all over India. I've written to them asking them to help us out with more information. Here's more about them...

" Youth Unite for Victory on AIDS (YUVA) is a plan of action prepared by the Ministry" of Youth Affairs & Sports in collaboration with NACO.

YUVA envisages reaching out to the adolescents and youth in all parts of the country to ensure that by 2010 all young people have accurate information, skills and access to HIV prevention services and facilities in conducive, safe and supportive environment and sustain the momentum through mainstreaming.

Seven national level youth organizations (Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangathan, National Service Scheme, Youth Red Cross, National Cadet Corps, Bharat Scouts & Guides, Youth Hostels Association of India and Association of Indian Universities) have come together for this unique program. The Rajiv Gandhi National Institute of Youth Development will provide training and research support for YUVA.

To equip the young people with prevention education and life skills for promoting healthy and safe behaviour and practices among them.
